The Citadel is one of Cairo's main attractions and probably the most popular non-pharaonic monument in the Egyptian capital. The prominent fortress houses three mosques, - of which is the impressive Mohamed Ali Mosque. Continue to visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities located in El Tahrir Square, which houses more than 120,000 relics, including some dating back to 4000 BC, The museum gives you an introduction to the different periods of ancient Egypt and their individual artistic and architectural styles with their ancient art.
